July Festivals and Gatherings

The 4th Annual Renegade Crafts Fair is coming to Fort Mason July 9th & 10th from 11am-7pm.  The best makers of handmade goods from the Bay and beyond will assemble for this free-to-attend marketplace celebration of indie-craft culture!  Tante’sMs. D’s Fabulous Catering, and Neetos Café will be on-site providing attendees with tasty food, including several vegetarian options. Beer and wine will be available for purchase as well!

Oakland’s 8th Annual Temescal Street Fair is Sunday, July 10th from Noon-6pm.  Held on Telegraph Ave between 45th and 51st Street, it promotes local craft artists and cultural performers.  It is a family friendly environment with a kids stage with magic and other performances and jumpy houses.  On the main stage is live music and lots of local restaurants like Barlata and SR24 will be selling their delicious food.

Petaluma’s 10th Annual Art & Garden Festival is Sunday, July 10th from 11am-5pm in Downtown Petaluma.   The Art & Garden Festival honors the arts and horticulture produced in the Petaluma area with an array of local art, garden accessories, fine crafts and handmade jewelry, in addition to food & wine tasting.

San Anselmo Food and Wine Festival is Saturday, July 16th & Sunday, July 17th from 10am-6pm.  It is held on San Anselmo Ave from Bolinas Ave to Tamalpais Ave.  Check out all the cute boutiques San Anselmo has to offer while enjoying lots of wine, good food and live music!

The Far West Fest is Saturday, July 16th from 10:30am-7pm at Love Field in Point Reyes Station. A green event that raises money for non-profits, Far West Fest also has several music stages offering a lineup of funk, blues, country, rock, folk, experimental, bluegrass and world music, internationally touring acts and local favorites. The Far West Fest for Oyster Off is held from 1-3pm.  Food vendors include Marshall Store, Curry Up Now, Suzie Q’s Cajun Lunch Box, Barbary Coast Bistro and many others.  There will also be a Lagunitas IPA beer garden and a Kidz Zone that features clowns (scary), jugglers, storytellers and many interactive games.  Tickets are $24 for 21+ and $12 for 10-20 yrs if bought in advance.

The Oakland Jazz Festival is Saturday, July 23rd at noon at Dunsmuir Hellman Historical Estate.  The all day event will feature KEM, Boney James, Will Downing, Lalah Hathaway, Ray Obiedo & The Latin Jazz Project, Lloyd Gregory, and The World Famous Rick and Russ Show. Food and alcohol will be available for purchase.  Here is information on how to purchase tickets.

The 27th Annual Park Street Art & Wine Faire is Saturday, July 30th and Sunday July 31st from 10am-6pm in Alameda.  There will be over 300 arts, crafts, and food vendors, 2 music stages, and 4 beer and wine booths.  The kids area includes a petting zoo and a bouncy house.

The 17th Annual Indonesia Day is on July 23, at 10 am–5 pm held in Union Square.  There is a parade, Indonesian emcees and celebrities, gamelan music, food, and traditional dances and a fashion show by a troupe from Indonesia, in celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day.  Admission is free.

The 74th Stern Grove Festival (19th Ave and Sloat Blvd)  started up June 19th with their free concerts and performances every Sunday at 2pm. Upcoming performers include Aaron Neville, Afrocubism, San Francisco Symphony and San Francisco Ballet. Here is a guide so you will be prepared for the concerts!

Emeryville’s Summer Concert Series every Thursday night in July.  All performances will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm. at Christie Avenue Park (6200 Christie Avenue), located right behind Emeryville’s Public Market and are FREE.  Food is not provided, bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the music!

Sausalito Jazz and Blues By the Bay is held every Friday at Gabrielson Park from 6:30-8pm.  Bring a blanket and a picnic basket of food and drinks and enjoy live music with amazing views of the bay. Admission is free.
